Iran has issued an arrest warrant and called on Interpol for help to arrest US President Donald Trump and 35 other US officials over the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, as seen in footage from Tehran on Tuesday.
"We will not take the blood of our martyred Commander Hajj Qasem Soleimani easily, and we have declared that the criminals who committed this terrorist act must be brought to justice," said Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili. "Preliminary investigations have been carried out, and the international police have been notified of the terrorist report issued to these individuals, and we are pursuing the trial and punishment of any of these individuals at any time."
Interpol rejected Iran's request on Monday, reportedly saying they don't pursue cases of a political or military nature.
General Soleimani was the leader of the Revolutionary Guards' Quds Force. The US targeted Soleimani, at the Baghdad airport in Iraq on January 3, for allegedly masterminding attacks by Iran-aligned militias on US forces in the Middle East.
